Using Image Texture Analysis to Evaluate Soil–Compost Mechanical Mixing in Organic Farms

چکیده

Soil amendments (e.g., compost) require uniform incorporation in the soil profile to benefit plants. However, machines may not mix them uniformly throughout upper layer commonly explored by plant roots. The study focuses on using image texture analysis determine level of mixing uniformity following passage two kinds harrows. A 12.3-megapixel DX-format digital camera acquired images soil/expanded polystyrene (in laboratory) and soil/compost mixtures field conditions). In laboratory, pictures captured before during simulated progressive expanded particles. conditions, exposed superficial horizons compost-amended after a combined spike-tooth–disc harrow disc harrow. Image based gray-level co-occurrence matrix calculated sums dissimilarity, contrast, entropy, metrics. laboratory resulted increased dissimilarity (from 1.15 ± 0.74 × 106 1.65 0.52 106) contrast values 2.69 2.06 5.67 1.93 106), almost constant entropy (3.50 0.25 decreased 6.65 0.31 105 4.49 1.36 105). Using tooth-disc open higher (+73.3%, +62.8%, +16.3%), lower (−50.6%) than harrow, suggesting enhanced layer.

Unsupervised Texture Image Segmentation Using MRFEM Framework

Texture image analysis is one of the most important working realms of image processing in medical sciences and industry. Up to present, different approaches have been proposed for segmentation of texture images. In this paper, we offered unsupervised texture image segmentation based on Markov Random Field (MRF) model. First, we used Gabor filter with different parameters’ (frequency, orientatio...

New Method for Analysis of image sensor to produce and evaluate the image

In this paper, a new method for evaluating CMOS image sensors based on computer modeling and analysis is introduced. Image sensors are composed of different parts, each of which has a specific effect on image quality. Circuits of image sensors can be evaluated and analyzed using circuit simulators or theoretically, but these methods cannot help to produce the final image. In order to produce th...

A checklist approach to evaluate the contribution of organic farms to landscape quality

Criteria need to be developed to evaluate the cultural environment of European rural landscapes. The goal is to evaluate and encourage the contribution of organic farming to sustainable landscape quality. Two sets of criteria were used to evaluate the quality of the cultural environment, non-expert and expert values. The non-expert values consisted of criteria for the appreciation of the presen...

FFDM image quality assessment using computerized image texture analysis

Quantitative measures of image quality (IQ) are routinely obtained during the evaluation of imaging systems. These measures, however, do not necessarily correlate with the IQ of the actual clinical images, which can also be affected by factors such as patient positioning. No quantitative method currently exists to evaluate clinical IQ. Therefore, we investigated the potential of using computeri...
